Profiles are very important for SmartDelphi, is the way that you can analyze the results by different groups. This helps you understand which group is changing the consensus or even identify bi-consensus among different groups.
By default SmartDelphi always ask for AGE and SEX, so you don’t need to ask these again.
<aside> ⚠️ You must create the profiles before opening to vote. You will not be able to change after.

How to create a profile specific for your project?
Select the button ADD NEW PROFILE, and the EDITOR will open.
To create a profile you need to define:
In SmartDelphi we support 2 types of questions, SCALE questions and OPEN questions.
In the Questions area you can select which one you would like to start with the button “Add new SCALE question” or “Add new OPEN question”. You can mix the types of questions up to the number of question that is in your plan.
A Likert SCALE question in a Delphi method is a type of question that measures the level of agreement or disagreement of a panel of experts on a specific topic using a rating scale. In SmartDelphi you can personalize the scale and the semantic differentials.
The use of a SCALE scale question in the Delphi method has several benefits, including:
Statement: In the editor you can show the content that you want to get the consensus, can be text, image, video. If you want more control of the content, a HTML code can be introduce.
Question: This is a direct question for the participant to take action. By default will appear “What do you think?”, but this can be personalized for the question needs (e.g “In which level you prioritize this statement”
Lower and Upper Limit: Here is where you introduce your semantic differentials, for example “Totally disagree” - “ Totally agree”
Min: Lowest value of scale
Step: The distance from each number of the scale, can be small as 0,0001 to 100
Values: Number of values in your scale.
Open-ended questions are those that allow respondents to provide their answers in their own words, rather than selecting from predetermined options. These questions can be valuable in various research contexts, offering several benefits:
However, it is essential to note that open-ended questions also have some limitations, including the potential for increased respondent burden, more time-consuming data analysis, and challenges in coding and interpreting responses. Despite these limitations, open-ended questions can be a valuable tool in qualitative research, providing rich and detailed data that can lead to new insights and a deeper understanding of the topic being explored.
